Arena Solutions: Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Application


Arena Solutions has integrated their Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) application with the Acumatica ERP. This will help Acumatica ERP users to  design, produce, and deliver innovative products rapidly.

With Arena’s product lifecycle management (PLM) and quality management (QMS) solutions, customers can accelerate new product launches and eliminate costly errors caused by manually entering information in ERP. This gives engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams a completely connected approach throughout new product development and introduction.

Streamlining the passage of product information from PLM to ERP the instant it is approved by cross-functional teams, gives companies a strategic advantage to continually innovate and deliver solutions fast. Once the design of a new product is approved in Arena PLM, all part and assembly information will be automatically passed to Acumatica Cloud ERP, giving procurement and production teams immediate and accurate product record access to speed their planning and manufacturing processes.

Full Integration of Arena PLM with the Acumatica Manufacturing Management Application

Besides entering the product requirements and the design documentation, you can create an engineering Bill Of Material (BOM) in the Arena PLM application. The integration of the Arena PLM application with Acumatica enables you to transfer the following information to Acumatica:

  • Stock item information

  • Sales category

  • BOM

  • Vendor

  • Vendor details

The video (30 mins, 2/2021) will take you through the steps of entering product requirements, design documentation, creating an engineering BOM in Arena PLM. Then the video will proceed with the transfer of data from Arena PLM to Acumatica. Next, once the engineering BOM has been converted to a production BOM in Acumatica, the work/production order will be created and fulfilled in Acumatica.

This really streamlines the whole process of an Engineer to Order environment. While the Arena PLM takes care of all the design and engineering steps of a new product, the Acumatica Project Accounting application enables a project quote, tracking of project tasks, materials costs and revenue, and timeline.

So, this Project Manufacturing includes Project Accounting, PLM, production management (planning and fulfillment).
