Acumatica Business Events and Notifications

Summary
​
The Acumatica Notifications and Business Events Feature enables you to create a notication (email, SMS message, a Generic Inquiry, etc.) when there is a change in the data (shipment made, payment made, invoice released, inventory below reorder point, AP bill approv.etc). The right person is notified. This becomes very powerful when you combine this with workflow management (approval workflow). For instance the buyer gets a notification that the inventory level of an item falls below the reorder point, and that he/she should submit a Purchase Order (PO).  When he/she creates the PO, he/she needs the approval from accounting to release the PO. The buyer has no excuse for an inventory shortage.
A Business Event

The business event feature enables you to create a condition, and when that condition is satisfied, a notification will be created.
For example, you want to notify the shippers (warehouse) of all the outstanding customer backorders so that the back orders get fulfilled asap. The general steps would be:
  1. Create a Generic Inquiry listing all the customers with backorders, and for each backorder the backorder line items
  2. Send out one email for each backorder listing the backorder line items to the right shipper.
For instance, you want to notify the customer to give more problem information for an open support case. Or to give more requirements information for a sales quote!
