The set up of each component will be described in the features section

Features

LAN: wired or wireless

InterCS has wired a whole office plaza that consists of 3 buildings. Each building has about 15 tenants. All tenants are connected through InterCS to the Internet some tenants have their own firewall and a VPN connection to other remote offices.

This office plaza network looks generally as follows:

Win2000 servers and users

Once all servers and client PCs are connected to a switch, and the TCP/IP protocol is set up properly on each computer, the computer will then be seen but will not be able to share drives (folders) and printers via the LAN. The objective is to enable certain users (PCs) to access certain drivers or folders on other servers or PCs. To enable this the window 2000 server has to be properly set up with user-ids. InterCS has done this many times for customers according to their specific requirements. Firewall setup had to be considered too.

An example of users sharing drivers and printers is illustrated below:

Firewall

InterCS will analyze your current LAN set up, your current and future LAN and WAN security requirements, and propose the right but cost effective firewall solution. InterCS has set up firewalls for business that don’t have a web server and mail server, and for businesses that have a general set up is illustrated below for each group.

Business without web servers and mail server

  • Wired LAN

The setup with dynamic IP addresses prevents outsides from reaching your server and PCs. Since the firewall runs anti virus software, most viruses don’t get through. InterCS customers with this firewall setup have been very happy with our solution.

  • Wireless LAN (WLAN)

The wireless LAN setup includes a Router, Firewall and Access Point in one unit. The firewall has DHCP to provide dynamic IP addresses. The Access Point s/w encrypts the data being transferred. No hacker can reach the server and PCs, or intercept data.

Business with web servers and mail server

The public servers (web server and mail server) can be reached from the public Internet but are still secured from hackers since the firewall prevents them access. The private server and PCs have dynamic IP addresses which prevents hackers from reaching them.

Email box sharing

Companies use email all the time to correspond with customers during the presale and the after sale process. The sales group and may be the customers service group need to process these emails. So, the emails need to be shared. When a sales person or customer service person handles a particular email, the other sales people need to know this. So, once a email has been read by somebody, it has to be marked as such

InterCS has set up solutions for customers, that meet the objectives of sharing an email box and of marking a read email.

Remote Access Service (RAS)

Companies want their employees to be able to access their office PCs or server from home or from anywhere outside.the office via the Internet. The employee must be able to take over his office PC or server remotely so that he/she can run applications on his office PC/Server and access folders. This requires a proper setup of an IP address on the office PC/Server, of the firewall, and of Remote Access Service (RAS) the office PC/Server and the PC at home. InterCS has done this many times for its customers.

An illustration of such setup is given below:

Benefits

The benefits of our NT Networking services  are as follows:

  • Email, browsing the web and sharing files over the Internet moves information fast and inexpensively. The benefit of having a web infrastructure is in the ability to communicate quickly, accurately and cost effectively with customers, or anybody in the world. Email and sharing files over the Internet allows you to do all of this.

  • Having your own web server and mail server enables you to run your own website and email programs.

  • If your website has a lot of traffic and needs to interact with your in-house databases, you might consider having your web server and mail server in-house.

  • Sharing files, printers and computers avoids duplication of information, and enables integration of applications.

  • Networking computers via LANs and WANs enables people to share files within a company, run applications on remote computers, and share hardware devices such as CD ROMs, printers, and hard drives.

Internet Customer Solutions, Inc. has setup LANs and WANs for multiple companies where a total web infrastructure was needed. All these implemented web infrastructures are up and running. Since Internet Customer Solutions, Inc. has the expertise in computer hardware and software, LANs and WANs, networking, and web access (DSL, ISDN, T1), an integrated configuration can be proposed that will save the customer a lot of money, and, at the same time, is customized for the customer’s specific needs.

Pricing

Fees for the different types of network setups will be discussed during the review of your needs and requirements, or at the time of proposal presentation.

Two pricing models exist:

  • The Fixed Pricing Model is where time estimates are made for the total price estimate is given. This is the dominant model for most setups.
  • The Time-and-Material Model is where an hourly fee is paid for each hour that is spent on the project. This model sometimes has to be applied when overtime has been agreed on and when time estimates are very difficult to make. Also, very complex setups may require this pricing model.
