may consist of the following main sections:
· Public section
· Private distributor section
· Private employee/sales people section The
public section may consist of the following parts:
· Products
| An online product catalog that is database driven, is strongly
recommended since such a database enables you to update all product
information on time. This database will also be used to create
distributor/reseller catalogs that can be incorporated by them in their website,
and can be printed as well. |
· Service
| Services that support the installation, configuration and maintenance of your
products can also be described in an online service catalog that is database
driven. |
· Our
Distributors/Resellers
| A list of distributors/resellers should be displayed based on the product and
zip code that is entered by the web visitor. All distributor/reseller
information should be stored in a database so that online lookups are
possible. |
· Events
(Tradeshows/Seminars)
| Events such as tradeshows, seminars, new product and marketing program releases
occur often, and should be easily maintainable. This can be accomplished
using a database to store the events. |
· Customer Service
· Technical Support
| Technical
support contacts will be dependent upon the products and geographical location.
Presales and post sales technical support may apply. The contact information for
all these different technical support groups should be easily found, based on the
entry of product, zip code, and possibly other criteria. This can only be achieved
when all the technical support information is stored in a database. |

Benefits
The main benefit of a database driven website is
the a vast
amount of information stored there is structured and consistent across product groups,
support groups, sales territories and channels. Only a database ensures that
such a structure and consistency holds up over time.
Pricing
Fees for the different
types of web pages will be discussed during the review of your needs and
requirements, or at the time of proposal presentation.
Two pricing models
exist:
- The Fixed Pricing Model is where time estimates are made for
the total development time of a web page, and total price estimate is given. This
is the dominant model for most development work.
- The Time-and-Material Model is where an hourly fee is paid for
each hour that is spent on the project. This model sometimes has to be applied
when overtime has been agreed upon and when time estimates are very difficult to
make. Also, very complex development work may require this pricing model.
